Yusen Logistics Selected for the Second Consecutive Year as Freight Forwarder in "the SAF Promotion Project" Led by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government

Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (President: Hidenori Hara) has once again been selected as freight forwarder for "the SAF Promotion Project" ("the Project") led by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. With our green solution "Alternative Fuel", we will strive to creating an environmentally responsible supply chain.

Launched by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in FY2024, "the Project" targets to promote the use of SAF and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions arising from the entire corporate supply chains. Under this initiative, companies could in return receive financial support from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for part or all of the additional SAF expenses through air freight transport service arranged by the selected freight forwarder. We were selected as a participating freight forwarder in FY2024 and contributed to the reduction of GHG emissions in our customers' supply chains. We are committed to playing this key role in FY2025, further advancing sustainable supply chains.

Since 2022, the Yusen Logistics group has partnered with airlines on their SAF programs and been working closely with them to expand our transportation network utilizing SAF. In April 2023, we launched our air freight forwarding service leveraging SAF, followed by our own issuance of GHG emissions reductions certificates in January 2024. In May 2025, we announced our new green solution "Alternative Fuel" which delivers the environmental value achieved through the use of renewable fuels to customers in ocean and road transport in addition to our initial air freight forwarding service with SAF. This includes the launch of "Alternative Fuel Air", "Alternative Fuel Ocean", and "Alternative Fuel Road" for respective mode of transport. We will provide freight forwarding services utilizing SAF with our "Alternative Fuel Air" and promote broader adoption of SAF in Japan.
